No sign. Usually up to the applicant if they want to. It's not a second interview. It's a chance to check out the program when they don't have their interview suit on.

so, is it good to go for it? it might show the program that the applicant is interested or does it not make any difference at all? also, this might differ from program to program but, can going for a second look change the programs opinion about the applicant? specially if you get a chance to talk to the PD for more than the 10-15 minutes on interview day ...

It certainly won't hurt you. If you can afford it or if the hospital in question is close to you, then do it. At my program, you won't have the opportunity to talk with the PD again - it's a second look, not a second interview.

Is it always weighed in the candidates favor Usually, it sways us in the favour of a candidate. Occasionally, it's made up our mind that the candidate wouldn't be a good fit. Thanks for asking about the girls (dogs) - they are fine although Chloe found the remains of a squirrel in the yard. I actually hope it was the one that attacked Molly early in the summer. It's actually been a lot of fun to have a herd of terrierists in the house.
