hi anyone knows why there is no RAPD in unilateral cataract? thanks~

i think it ll b present in dense u/l cataract where vision is absolutely nil.coz there wont b any light reaching the retina...just my thought...but its not called RAPD...havent read it anywhere...

the absence of light refraction function, agree with PGI2alpha, light does not reach the retina.

but from http://www.richmondeye.com/apd.asp --> scroll down to the end "Conditions which will NOT cause a Relative Afferent Pupillary Defect include: Refractive Error (even if extreme) Media Opacity (a bright enough light will indicate NO RAPD) Cataract (even if completely opaque)"
