what will be the difference in training in a university vs a community program in family medicine

To be quite honest, I dont think there is a difference. Unlike IM, FP has very limited fellowships available. PLUS, more docs in FP are inclined to go into Primary Care. So unless you are into research or academics, there really isnt too mcuh difference in community vs. Univ. program in FP. Plus, fellowships are pretty easy to come by in FP. The most competitive one, I hear, is Sports Medicine. And they have this Emergency certification down in Kansas that may be tough as well.
