Hi, Just wanted to give a heads up to the USMLE Step 1 people. I just went on the website
http://books.mcgraw-hill.com/medical/usmleasy/ste...

This has free questions for Step 1 till May 31st/04. All you got to do is put in your information and sign up. No credit cards or anything like that. Thats it and away you go. I have started to use it so the questions are a good preparatory tool for extra questions smiling face You can go from the directory and check out the site. Hope I helped grin

Thanks Docshah,
Great recommendation!

Anyone knows how these questions compare to the real thing? Or perhaps how the scores one gets on that website might be reflective of the score one would get on the real thing?

  #13

so exciting, thanks a lot!

I repeat the good question of xeroorex, Anyone knows how these questions compare to the real thing? Or perhaps how the scores one gets on that website might be reflective of the score one would get on the real thing?
I'm about to start with these questions and I'd like to know if it worth it to do it after q bank and if they are similar to qbank or the real thing, Thanks

Doh..............I am late! I missed it!

I do not think that they are in step 1 fashion....kaplan still the best. But, they are good to review concepts. I usually do them after my review for the day, and always get questions on concepts I covered. The only problem is that you get lots of repeat questions. If there was a way to turn this function off...so, you could complete the set....that would be good.

PLEASE MESSAGE ME

I think the concepts that are covered are needed to answer the questions, but not the same style. Kaplan is really good. NBME also puts out sample question...although I am told that they are easier than the real thing. But, they say that the questions are in the same format and cover the same material as the step 1. I think that you should definately do these questions.

Quinn u can click on 'only unseen questions' when creating an exam so your questions will be new everytime.
Also expire date for me came up june 21 so more time to do these questions grin

dxtxpx... You say till June 21st but the system says till end of may!!
Here is exactly the message I got a couple minutes ago... I reapplied hoping to add a friends name but it still gave me till end of may..so everyone who is using the questions.. be prepared for the end of the month... Here is the message...

Attention: Due to the massive amounts of traffic at USMLEasy during the last week of our free trial period, you may experience some slowness between screens. We expect the system will return to its regular “lightning-fast” state on June 1 when free subscriptions end and we convert to a paid subscription service. Thank you for your understanding and continued support!

Hi Guys,

I have started to prep. for step 1, did step 2 two weeks ago. I plan to take the exam in the middle of September.

I decided that on this week instead of learn the basics I will go through completely those questions I found on the yet free site called usmleasy.
On the one hand I somewhat got into the subjects and earn lots of additional info.On the other hand it contains 2800 questions so that is pretty good start.

Now I am looking for someone I could work together and save the questions in Word format. My tactics is the following. I pick a subject eg. genetics than I save the questions and the explanations by copiing them into a simple word file. In this way I could use them latter and also lots of help.

Next I will start on FA, too bad I have the 2002 version only. Since I have already graduated in Hungary two years ago I plan to spend to learn the entire book in 1 week. Certainly I will not be able to rememeber all the details but later on I will keep on repeating them. This is my plan so far for the next two weeks.
