Hello all,
I havent posted on the forum in ages! And this will likely be my last post.
I had the intentions of taking Step 3 about 2.5 yrs ago, but one thing after another lead to my taking it this past November.
I had taken the NBME test and scored a bismal 320, waited 4 weeks-1 week before my test and scored a 340...disheartened and depressed- I took it just to get the damn thing over with and just got my score of 87. Not great, but given my circumstances-Im just glad Im done.
I am not sure how helpful how I studied will be for all of you as I am in my 3rd yr of my internal medicine residency...and medicine being the majority of the exam is what I do everyday.
I did subscribe to usmleworld, but only did roughy 50%, averaged about 55%.
I studied OB/peds/psych/surg from Kaplan step 3 notes and first aid step 3 over about 2 weeks. Not so much crush. I forgot to do the CD, but did practice the CCS, but for not reason, as I think I was able to complete 2 of the 9 cases to my satisfaction.
My point in posting was for those people who feel confident-stay confident, the nbme doesnt have alot of medicine, but the real thing does. Mind you, please take my post wth a grain of salt, as like I said I have been practicing nothing but medicine for the past 2.5 yrs.
