I am so very confused .....how does one get a California letter if one doesnt have a SSN number? But ecfmg says that they are sponsoring J1 visas in California also!! So how are people needing visas getting the California letter thro' ..........plzzz help ................I am really screwed up, as hardly have any iv and this PTAL is further causing problem................plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz heellllppppp me as I really believe that ppl here r very helpful!

ECFMG and CA board are ruled by different authorities altogether,so u cannot find logic into their contradictory rules(sorry about that).

Forget CA letter if you cannot get SSN

Sorry about that!!! I had the same dilemma/confusion a few months back... I tried everything... did not work.... as robin said and as I did... move on if you don't have a SSN... I'm sorry....
