HI,

I came across this question which was passed on to me by one of my seniors.

A study is being done on patients regarding the effectiveness of a certain new treatment mortality.

Patients alive Patients Dead Patients Lost Patients surviving
at beginning to followup at end of period
of time period

12 mths 100 5 0 95
24 mths 95 7 5 ?

Using Kaplan Meyer, survival risk assesment, calculate the number of patients surviving at the end of 24 months? Assume that the patients lost to follow up did not die??? :?: :?: :?:

If anyone can please explain this to me, would be most grateful...I am away from my college library otherwise would have looked it up....If someone knows of a website where it is given, that would be the best....

Also can someone explain to me, what is the difference between attributable risk and Absolute risk reduction?? BOth have similar calculations....

Thanks a lot,[/b]

Darn, I cant make tables in this forum and look at all that text, all jumbled up....

it read like in the order...

patients alive at beginning of time period 100 95
patients dead 5 7
patients lost to follow up 0 5
patients surviving at end of time period 95 ??

First column is for 12 months and next one is for 24 months...U get the picture!
