Very cold place. stayed at Hilton garden INN right across the hospital (got a discount from the program) , ate at the hospitals cafeteria. But the psych interview isnt in the main hospital, its a 5 min walk from the hotel( 10 min if theres ice on roads). Interview started with a faculty describing the program. there were just 3 applicants. Then individual interviews started. Albany is a cold place but the PD is colder than that. Very nice, accomplished lady but a little too reserved for my liking. But the resident described the PD as very approachable and quiet easy going, maybe i got the wrong impression of her. The other interview was with two faculties, both asked behavoral questions strengths weaknesses why psych where do u see rself in 5 yrs, what onething you would change abt ur personality etc etc. Third interview was wth another faculty who was an extremely nice old man. He was so pleasant to talk to that i almost forgot the PD. Overall, the program doesnt have any fellowships, although a University pogram still no research opportunities but as the resident said its really easy to find psych fellowships if ones is interested. Residents are happy. Overall, somehow i didnot have very good feeling about this program. Yes, they do offer prematches.
