"I also need to read more articles on current patient admissions - to learn more about the disease processes that I see on a daily basis." During one of my interviews the PD was so pissed of that i didnt ask many questions. Saying "Is that all that you want to know about the program ?" The website of that program was so detailed that i had learnt everything needed from there. In addition i went thru the brochure completely so there is hardly anything left to ask. I didnt want to risk hearing "thats on our website" That might be something that you have to work on - find something that ISN'T on the website. This is where you are going to have to do your homework. - We have the number of residents who have obtained fellowships on our web site, but good questions might be: "What is the percentage of residents in your program who wanted a fellowship, but didn't obtain one?"
- "How does the residency program support residents who want to find a fellowship?"
- "What do you think about the initiative that ACGME is working on to develop a new way of teaching residents?" (gee, this tells you what I was looking at yesterday, doesn't it? It's interesting, but I don't know how it's going to happen)
