Hi all,
I used to use this forum for step 1 ,but while preparing for step 2 i may have only used it several times,posting certain inquiries that you guys resolved simply and accurately.Anyway had my exam on the 27th of Nov. and finished with a feeling that combined hope concern and fear of the unexpected.
I went to the exam confident and seeking a 99 with a high three digit score!!!
Maybe my step 1 99/248 score and my perfprmance on UW (mean of 81%,unused timed,random ) and on the QBook 84% gave my some overconfidence.I did the usmle cd and got 42 41 41.
In the exam :
Block 1 (it was like doing a UW block ending with me marking 4 questions)V.Good
Block 2 (i remember it was easy ,and i may have marked 2-3 questions) Excellent
block 3 (like above)Excellent
Block 4 (almost 60-70% seemed difficult ;maybe i was tired and should have taken a longer break before starting this block, any way i got many wierd post op cases ,tough decision- making questions and long ,very long,stems.
lets Say i had 12 marked questions 3 i know now are wrong and 2 unanswered)it felt V.bad
Block 5 (may have marked 2-3)i felt excellent
Block 6 (May have Marked 6-7)i felt Good
Block 7 (may have marked 4-5)i felt V.good
Block 8 (may have marked 6)i felt Good
I found mood and anxiety disorders and postop cases difficult
Medicine was detailed but nothing new(kap and uw cover well)
dermatolgy 2 difficult pics and one difficult qs
obgyn (nothing new ,got more gyn than ob)
ped (nothing new ,kaplan and uw )
surgery mostly trauma (all covered in kaplan)
So can U guys PLease help me figure out how i did in the exam.I felt better after i finished step 1 although i had a total of 16 queery marked questions!! and i had also messed up block 4 but not that way.Anyway i have read ur comments and i would like you guys to objectively evaluate how i did.

ur performane is excellent and i am very hopeful that u will get 99 in this step too.
Did u listen DVDs for ur preparation for step-2 ck and if did how much do u think those helped u.

Hi Falcon,
I did listen to most video lectures and would recommend seeing IM (u'll find some worth doing more than others ,but do all IM) , OBGYN.As for Psychiatry i recommend seeing the tapes if just to know the highyield subjects. Didn't do surgery(friend said there isn;t much on the tape , u wont already have read in the book) or PEDIATRICS( slept while doing the first track and so kept as a plan b in case i can't sleep at nights....loooool).

hi zaid....u'll do very well
did u take NBME mock exams?
i took step-2 on 28 nov....my 8th block was like ur 4th block....first two blocks were easy..rest were ok-ok....had wierd "post op" qs....some ventilator qs...lots of pedia....when should we expect the results?

I Hope your right and i hope we both post good news soon.
I didn't do NBME mock exams,sorry.
I was told to expect the results 21-28 days after the date of exam.I think there are those who can more accurately pin point the expected date.In the meantime let's pray for a good score.GL with your score...

I took my exam on Nov. 27th in Philadelphia. Just got the results this morning: 83/203

Got my result yesterday 99/249
hemdullah ,God rewards hard wrok.I always believed but now i have proof for it,i worked hard,very hard.I may have messed a little in the exam ,but God rewarded my hard work.
GL for all and especially those who wrote reassuring posts.Congratulations Lakshya, i guess we did it.Great score.
