I wish to start this thread so that people can post their experiences regarding response to thank you letters or others. I believe this can be useful in guaging our chances. If everybody gets the same response from a program, maybe that will be reassuring. If there is a difference in intensity of responses, we can be more realistic. Hope this works. I start with mine:
1. Harbor Hospital, MD : no response to thank you letters.
2. Rosalind Franklin, IL : no response
3. LSU, Shreveport: " I believe you can be very successful in our program". PDs response to thank you letter.
4. NYMC, Metropolitan: They said they will call for 2nd visit. No response to thank you letter.
5.Saint Mary's, CT: no response.
6. Washington Hospital center: " Good luck for placing into an outstanding program(like our's) and success in all ur career plans" Chair's response to thank you.
7. Saint Francis, IL: " I will rank you very high in the list"..PDs response after interview.

how about when the PD says, at the end of IV,: when you finish your other IVs if you are still interested in our program give us a call!
I'm wondering what this means?

Hi everyone... i have been a silent reader of this forum and i was just wondering about thank u letters... i just started my interviews and i wasnt sure about how to send the letters... should i send it by regular mail or by email? or both? and do you only send it to the PD? or just the person who interviewed u? thank u very much for your help!

send it by e-mail, and to all facility who interviewed you. In case you dont have e-mail address u can send it to PC and ask her to forward it to the concerned facility. And if you have the contacts of the person who interviewed then also do send one copy to PC, so that she can keep a copy of it in your file. Usually PD come in morning conference and spent some time giving information program, so do thank them for that in case they are not interviewing you.
