Hi
I am thinking about accepting a prelim IM prematch. I just have few doubts. i am requesting somebody who knows about them to post here.

1. would i be able to apply for a prelim IM program in next match?
2. would i be able to apply to a combined program (like 1 year medicine and 3 years neurology) next year?
3. would i be able to apply for a categorical IM program next year?

I would appreciate your input and any reference if you can.

1.- yes if not in J1
2.- same
3.- same

reference: 1 PD...
If you are on J1 you can not repeat a year... if other, citizen, GC, H1...it's just like a job....

I believe you can.... If your country agrees to send the letter, why not ? ... you could maybe contact ECFMG to ask them directly, since j1 is sponsored by them in agreement with the ministry of health of the country where you plan to return to... (not necessarily of origin)

If you can secure a prelim prematch, then you dont need to wait for next year for CA-1. Apply also for neuro this year for 2009. I think you should be able to do that... I think
