I've been studying for step1 for 4 months now and i have 2 subjects left, then i want to move to questions. My concern is that i have not applied for the test yet, because i'm still not sure when i'll be ready. Many people apply ahead of time before they even start studying. Is it something wrong in applying 2-3 months before eligibility period ?

Apply whenever you feel comfortable with your studies.
Reserve the gold time for reviewing prior the exam.
