Hi bbb. If i DO ask for a prematch, and they say that they like me and i am a candidate that they think will fit in well there but they have to meet with all the other interviewers and get back to me, HOW LONG should I wait to hear from them before accepting another prematch at my second choice??? Thanks again for all your help!

If you getting a prematch from other place, if you have some time, call the previous program , be polite , expain how much you love them , and ask what is there status? If they say yes take it. If they say want to wait, indirectly they are telling you are on hold/ not preferedd. don't give too much weight on oral reassurance. first come first unless you are a risk taker/ have a very big dream of graduating in particular institute.

Haven't really gotten offers... The first place is "thinking about it" but has to consult with the team which interviewed me... The second place I like as well, and will interview there this week. however I have a feeling I'll still like the first place better than the second... I'm not really in a position to pick and choose here considering these are my ONLY 2 interviews... I would very happy at the first place, but probably also be content at the second... My main goal is to GET RESIDENCY IN 2008, no matter what, and no matter where! So I need to work with what I have and do things right... Hopefully something will work out. bbb any thoughts? Please don't bypass my question like a blocked coronary.

I sent a written thank you note by mail to everyone I interviewed with... that was within a week after i interviewed with them. now it's been a couple of weeks... I want to show my interest, but I don't want to be too pushy or agressive.

Well, sitting and waiting won't get you anywhere...Be polite but persistant! You said your main goal is to start residency in July08- then go for it! Prepare your "speech" well, be calm, charming and convincing!
