when i started my prep first i read medicine and the maximum no of questions comes from medicine. ques from rest of subjects r not equally distributed some people get more from one and some from others. any way in my exam 75% of ques r from medicine and in medicine respiratory system(esp Asthma and COPD were highly tested i mean i got 2 to 3 ques about Asthma im each block i just can't believe it), Cradio(very Imp) and GIT, these 3 system were highly tested. then rest 25% questions r from other subjects like more from pschy, pedia, surgery and less from obs/gyn. as i said everyone's experinces r diff so u shd read each subjects atleast twice. u can start from medicine then pedia, surgery , obs/gyn and pschy. kaplan dvds r very good esp for medicine and obs/gyn. very nice. i didn't listen for other subjects coz most of the people recommend these 2. i did my prep in 4 months and i took usmle world for 3 months, did once plus revevised only the wrong ques again. for last 10 days i read first aid and my usmle world notes. this is how i did my prep and i recived my result this week and got 87/211. i had to give my exam in nov otherwise if u give more time difen u will get a good result.

wish u good luck

Hey ummah! Thanks for sharing your experiences. May God bless you for that. Please can you or anyone else suggest me for this study strategy....I am thinking to do 1st quick reading of one subject (Kaplan LN) then instead of moving to other subject do 2nd reading of same subject Kaplan LN with FA and Kaplan Qbook? Since the same subject will be fresh I guess that will help more to memorize. I am thinking of trying this strategy..can anyone advise me over that plz?? Thanx in advance.

thanks hgheith for yr good wishes.

Rx, i don't know whether its a good idea to read 1 subj twice, i talked to so many people and read alot in forum and everybody says read whole subjects once and then do 2 reading. it depends on u if u feel that u can memorize well by this strategy then go ahead but do a 3rd quick reading only imp topics or points in last 15 days along FA. do mcqs everyday it really helps in CK.

hope it helps. good luck

Ya ummah, probably you are right. Going through all subjects helps you clear your concepts in a better way as all subjects are inter connected some how. So when you are doing the 2nd reading after having gone through the whole mass, it makes you understand that with more ease. Anyway, thank you for your guidance. May Almighty God Bless you for that.

I want to ask too about doing UW in book form? Does anyone know if that helps like online UW? Is it safe just to rely over the UW Qs in book form?
