Cs result dec 4 and certification...

I would like to know if peolple waiting for CS result in Dec 4 and the certification of ECFMG still have a chance to get IVs I am thinking if I can send aplication so late...Any one else in the same situation..

Hi guys, I ve the same dilemma. I believe we stand a good chance. After I get my certification I intend to start contacting the programs to update them on my status. Guess IVs are pretty much wrapped up by now, but I'm sure 1 or 2 may still trickle down to us.In addition some of the programs may be awaiting our results b4 completing the review of our application. Lets just pray theres no hiccups with the results. That would be catastrophic

I totally agree Nadi. I haven't heard from quite a few programs... They could be waiting for the CS result. Lets hope for the best.

Yes my friends we have to be optimistic about it, the match will be starting for us after dec 5th because in my case any program that I applied before give a definitive rejection, I hope they are waiting for cs results and certification, i only applied to programs with deadlineas in january and december 31.

Hey Alcivan, doc1981..when r u guys targeting to take step 3, that should help as well I guess esp for the match..I heard u may go up the ranking of a program if u get ur step 3 result by jan ending.

I'm looking @ registering once i get my certf, hoping to get a late dec date

Nadi I am targeting to take step 3 by late dec, but i have my concerns about the right state for taking the exam, I think that only a few states allow you to take it before a PGY 1, Any sugestions?

HOW LONG does it take from the time all your scores are reported till the time you get the ECFMG certification???

the minute you pass all exams AND your medical diploma has been verified the ECFMG certificate is being issued. If you live in the states you'll receive it within 3-4 business days because they ship it with FedEx. I received the score of my last exam on Sep 6, a couple of days later I had the certificate in my hands!

Somebody asked about step 3- yes, not all states allow you to take it before intership/residency. BUT if you do, you apply for a license in a state that allows it anyway. Once you have the exam in your pocket I don't think any residency program will deny the result and make you redo it after internship- never heard of such a case. So go for it.

Thanks... I also called ECFMG and they said all my credentials are verified... Now I just have to take STEP 2 CK.... and they will mail me the cert within 10 business days of receiving my score report....
I don't want to rush it to make it by match, and fail, but I also don't want to prolong it too long and miss rank order deadline... As I understand you have to be ECFMG certified to participate in the match... I have 2 IVs so far and I want to be able to rank them... WHEN should I take STEP 2CK by??? I"m thinking by the end of this month latest???

thanks God today I got the results and I have passed, only waiting for the certificate, now we have to work in more applications and the step 3... grin
