If you prematch, congratulations!

Please post where/which program you prematched. This will greatly help others hoping to match during the regular process to prepare their preference list. Thank you.

Anyone?nod

i stated earlier that i did not want to post where i am pre-matching... the PD told me it is rare for them to offer this, and i almost feel like throwing their name out might give it the name of a "pre-matching" program when it is not really.

also i'm waiting for the contract in the mail to say anything as well.

C5a,

Can you please tell us more about how you got the prematch/your credentials/the specialty at least -don't say the name of the program or state if you don't want to.

Did they offer it to you or did you ask for it? Did they offer it the day of your interview or later/when?

Thanks.

If you have prematched and dont wish to post the program then do post your credentials and also a point which tempted the program to offer you a prematch, like elaborate on the points which made them offer you.

Dont be angry. I was just trying to explain the duration of waiting varies by using a larger sample size(to reach high power statistics). No offend.

Hope u at least get a prematch. GL.

It's not helpful if u only post ur credentials. There are 2 reasons for this:

1. U must not go to the IM forum often. There are around 30-40 double 99ers there(check the credentials column in IM, we all post there). When they post credentials, does it help by knowing the program prematches double 99ers? What would people with lower score like u think? Feeling attacked again?

2. Also, forgive me again by saying I have 8 offers so far. None, literally none of them tell me why. All they say is u r a good candidate, u have bright future ...bla bla bla. In case u have any chance of being offered a position, u ll know what I m talking about.

People here r trying to help, but if it destroys ur self esteem, I m really sorry.

I m sorry that i might have offended some people by my last comment. It was in no way directed to the good people of the forum. It was an overzealous effort on my part to remove/restrict any further posts which would be precieved as false or fake or a mere effort to brag about their credentials.

I sincerely apologise if anyone got offended on my behalf. Please accept my apology.

i actually don't mind posting my creds

caribbean grad, US citizen, step 1 high 80s, step 2 high 70s, pass cs, 8 months of USCE, excellent letters from US docs (i saw 2 of them, and i didn't feel i deserved the nice things they said), they just had a spanish speaking faculty member retire from the program, and not many of the residents speak spanish. the spanish speaking patient population has risen dramatically, and i had a lot in common with the PD. i feel like i interview well, and i feel very comfortable shooting the $hit with people, maybe that had something to do with it. i actually had 2 prematch offers in one day. one from the program the day before, and one the day of. i accepted the one from the interview the day before. i signed the contract already.
