Hello Good People

I requested to extend my Step 1 eligibility period on November 7th but I forgot to cancel my appointment. I'm scheduled for December 3rd. My original eligibility period is October-November-December. I'm not able to
cancel or reschedule my appointment on the Prometric website. I suppose there are no places avalaible to the end of December. I don't have my extended eligibility period available yet because the ECFMG has not yet received my form 183-E. I'll call them later but now I'm not able and I'm freaking. What to do???

When u scheduled ur appointment u must have received the Centre information. Call them up asap to cancel ur appointment. Even if dont find places in the middle wk of Dec then centres are normally closed after 25th Dec till 15th Jan(not sure abt these dates ). Even if u do get a date it will be of mid Dec or mid Jan either way u r safe. Calling ECFMG wont help u cos unless they dont get ur letter it wont work so relax.

If the website doesnt work just call the centre and normally the ppl will help u out.

call them RIGHT AWAY, because you have to cancel your appointment 5 WORKING DAYS prior to your scheduled test date in order to avoid a hefty fine.

call prometric 1-800-MED-EXAM, and give them your confirmation number...you will have to pay a rescheduling fee for cancelling so late, but you are allowed to cancel and reschedule permitting availability...and if you cant find availability in your city, try another one...just stay on the phone with them until you find a testing appointment. good luck!

but make sure you get the testing site number and call the testing center right away to make sure they have your appointment.

yep..only way is to call pometric...same thing happened with me bt they are really very adjusting...ECFMG closes i guess in 1st week of Jan, not sure abt pometrics but definately pometric is open in last week of Dec coz i got a date of last week
