Fellow forum members,
At this point of the 2007 match I am facing a dilemma; I finally recieved a letter of recommendation, however there are a few complications that arise from this circumstance on which I need your advice.

1. If I send the sealed letter to the USMLE right now for this years match, will it at all be returned to me for next year, and when will they return it?

2. Are letters from fellowship students considered legit or are they are they negatively perceived as those given by residents?

Thank you very much for your time input and understanding.

P.S. I am very sorry for posting this into the wrong forum topic at first, now I fixed it.

on 1. : did you waive your right to see the LOR on the cover sheet? if yes then ECFMG won't return it back to you. If you did not waive your right then you can request it back with the document request service.

on 2. : what do you mean by fellowship students? fellow students (your peers) or fellows(=residents completing fellowship)? ...My personal opinion- it's always better to have a letter by an attending physician with work and teaching experience...

hope this helps!
