Injection of Ergometrin after the delivary of the first twin is coorrect I think.Any way please let me know the exact timing of administration of Methergin to reduce PpH.

ergots are absolutely contraind after delivery of the first...u dont want to shear off the blood supply to the 2nd baby....thereby committing murder

Yes. i agree about Ergot
But what about Methergin to prevent PPH. When is t given . Please let me know. Like in single gestation and twins. IS it after the delivery of shoulder. I tried reffering books But to my surprise I could not find it. Please explain.

methergin is an ergot alkaloid....methsergyside....it is used after the delivery of the baby to augment the contractions and to control PPHGE
it is used in the 4th stage of labor
