I am an IMG. I don't work at all and dedicate all of my time for studying.
I start study from March until now.
I take Kaplan prep course and complete 1 reading.
I do UW 3months and my score is only 50%.
I score 50% from the beginning until now.
I try to improve my score but it doesn't work
I am so upset and depressed.(I am typing with tear!!)
Can you guys lighten me up?
I don't know what I should do next

I know it's kind of low.

I did UW(second time) in genetic and I got 72%
Maybe I just can recognize the questions that I use to do.
Ok! Now it's time to read the whole explainations. 
Do you think I'm in the right track?

well, this is what i found useful during my prep with q-banks
when you look at the average it will not change much unless you start with very low and steadily increase your score to very high
what happened with me, there was no "steady" increase if i looked throughout all tests, but when i took first 5 and last fave tests and calculated average on those i could actually see the improvement.
do the same and compare 2 numbers, where do you stand?

In CK I had only 56% in UW still I got 91. the reason behind that was revising UW again & again. UW is a great learning tool too. as you said Your 2nd time genetics score improved so much you will surely do good in real exam if you know UW inside out.
GL dont waste time about percentage.. learn from UW & assess yourself by NBME if possible.

I don't remember what my final average was the first time I went thru UW but I vividly remember fretting about why I couldnt get it above 57%.
UW is only good as a learning tool. If you want to assess yourself do the NBME online.

very interesting information from everyone.
to jazmil, are you done with usmle? if you dont mind how did you do ? my first time uw score was very low, mid thirties to high thirties. now sometime i get 44% sometime i get 56%. and i fear , if 2nd time this is the situation, what will happen to me. i get lower scores in pathology and physiology. very frustrating.
To Johan, starting with 50% is really great, and 72%, wow, just take an nbme, i think u might be ready for the test with great score.

Today my plan is
UW genetic+histo+enbryo and also FA
Do 100 questions in Kaplan Q bank.
I don't know if it's possible to do so in one days.
But I'll try
I am not afraid anymore because I have you guys walking nearby me.

I did step 1 in june. If you click on my username and search my topics you'll find my score. My experience with uw in both step 1 and 2 has taught that looking at your percentage is a waste of time. I think the key to benefiting from uw is reading all the explanations, including those of all of the options. As was said earlier, uw is a learning tool. So just make sure you're getting the most out of every test you take, no matter what score you get. After all the only score that really matters is the one from the real exam.

hi, Scareless Johan . thanks so much for your post at my journal. i want to wish you the best for your prep. i think you're doing good, and you've got a lot of great experienced folks here, advicing you. keep up the good work. remember, only one set of numbers matter, those that you get from ecfmg.

My D-day is December 26 I study about ten hours a day(I kind of slow reader)
My plan is to complete reading all explainations in UW and go over FA.
I don't know whether I am in the right track. So, I bought Q-bank to see How good I am.
But I think It drive me crazy because I score very low like 50%.
Anyway, I still have time to improve my score. I am trying to be a positive thinking person.

10 hours is great Johan, i want to study more hours, do you have any tips how to stay focused, i can study well 4/5 hours, after that, my interest drops, but if i dont study for 10 hours,i have no chance,
i sit in the chair but i dont study, i surf the net,i dont want to watch tv, because once i go, i dont come back in 2 hours, i dont have enough time, i have plan on 21st december. 3 weeks left.

lol, have u done histo from kaplan few days back, i have downloaded kaplan, that was even tougher, i hate histo too, histo, genetics,biostatistic.
