what happens in vesiculoureteral reflux? I checked different books, but didn't find a clear cut answer. can you explain the answer, thanks!

i agree with usmleasr,normal function...but we should check other GUS abnormalities because of coincidence

sorry, i actually don't have the answer but i'm pretty sure it is normal function. horseshoe kidney can accompany other abnormalities, including vesicoureteral reflux (one source said 50%). but in most cases, it is an incidental finding and no reason to suppose any abnormalities. any other thoughts?

yep, I too read that 50% chance of VUR ..and UTI is also a complication . Hope its normal function since most of the time its incidental finding .

normal function but predisposed to infection, since another "physiological" kink is introduced to ureter
