I would like to know if Step 3 is required for applying J1 visa. :?:

Some sates (like California) let you apply without having Step 3 cleared so I think Step 3 is not required for a J1 visa.

Step 3 is not required for a J-1 visa. Only for an H1B visa.

Hi,

Thank you for much for your quick and clear reply.

I am a Canadian green card holder. I am now working in US on H1B. I wonder how I can get a Statement of Need from the Ministry of Health of Canada.

By the way, what is EAD?

I have heard of IMGs getting an H1B without taking the step 3 yet. is this possible?

Not to my knowledge or the knowledge of the person I know that works in an immigration office.

Employment Authorization Document (I'm guessing, but I know that EAD is the correct abbreviation.)
