Should we do heent exam thyroid, lymph node ,ophthlmoscopy and otoscopy in every patient? I have heard many people doing opthalmoscopy in patients who have D.M and HTN for many years?

It takes too much time also should we do real pin prick in patients who have trauma /neuro history.

Last time i have seen a patient that was female 45 menopause htn + come with c/o of diuresis telling me that she is on Htcz and asked if this is the side effect of the drug.

and i said that yes it can Be one of the causes But i have to run few tests to see what really is the cause of your proBlem and she was just not very satisfied.

i did a quick HEENT exam on almost every patient since that is my routine. but i think you should do a quick ophtha exam for DM history. esp if they have complaints.

the pin prick is really quick if you do it fast enough on the patient but it is impt to assess in the PN.

well i think your answer for the med side effect was correct but she was testing the limits. but you have to firm and say i am not sure until you run more tests and see if they are any other possible causes.
