stick with the PAMHUGSFOSS for every case. review the mini-cases every night. and try to do at least one case from every system as well. and practice your writing or typing a PN. and time yourself.

before you walk in, write down PAMHUGSFOSS on your scratch paper and maybe some differentials before walking in so you can ask about it too.

good luck

practise timed, over and over again. It should become second second nature.

The SP will allow you to do anything except breast and rectal exams. in the intro video the rules will be explained. They are used to being prodded and have probably had every PE done on them. so don't worry.

When you enter, knock first, and the say good morning Mr/Ms_______ i am Dr______ and how are you feeling today?

If the SP is complaining of pain, then attempt to do some palpation but once they scream in pain, then don't go on. just be sympathetic. but you need to elicit the pain for yourself in order to write in your PN.

Otoscopy when you feel it is necessary. i used it to look at the sore throats. and if there is was any history of vision loss or ear pain. it is the one that is attached to the wall. you will have time practice with the equipment before you start the exam.

when you hear the 5 minute warning definitely should be on the PE part. if not, then start then. there were cases where you would be finished in 5 minutes. so the rest of the time was working on the PN.

and if the patient is in pain, console them. if they don't feel your empathy they are going to keep going and going. although i think there is time limit for that too.

good luck
