i am an img from india with 88 and 90 scores ecfmg certified with reserch experience applied to 58 IM JUST GOT ONE call ....... wat should i do now feeling very sad please guide me ..............
has anybody attended interview at NASSAU .
please let me know ur experience
any info kindly lrt me know
should i hav to call the programs

Hi Sowmya,
Dont know if I really can 'guide' you as I am in a similar situation too- (a bit like how does one drowning man save another ;-) ) I am an IMG from India with research experience /PhD -applied to 65 odd programs - got only 2 interviews & 25 + rejections- All I can say is that it definitely helps if you know people in the US- eg US LoRs, USCE, knowing residents in programs all can help- if you have friends /classmates/seniors in the programs ask them to put in a word if possible
It might also make sense to call/ email people- at least it helps to find out where you stand- a couple of programs informed me that I had been rejected after I mailed them

yup..its a pretty messed up feeling guys..im in a similiar situation..applied to 57..got just 2 iV so far..n yup 20+ rejections..
hypomanic..dude..i dunno man..sure gettin USlors n USCE help..but i have both..2 USLOR..2 montsh USCE..even then it doesnt cut any ice..so wtf?
either this is a year which is really messed up or maybe our stars havnt aligned or whatever..but honestly i cant explain it in any other way..
sowmya..i dunno what to say myself..ur scores are definitely good..its so odd that last year one of the ppl i knew prematched at Sinai/JHU with similiar credentials..n this year there seems to be an avalanche of IV for some n a drought for others..no middle ground in between..
but lets not lose hope..
i would definitely call up all the programs..its gonna be tough to hear from a few places that all spots have been filed but u have to swallow it..
good luck n dont feel alone..a lot of us are in the same boat..

Hey guys, I was almost afraid to post in the regular IM iv forum coz I thought I am the only one with just 1 IV so far....87/85/Cs still to appear; US research/PhD; US LORS; 2 mo observership; no VISA issues........don't know what else can we do?
I was hoping if I reapply next year with ECFMG certification, it will help...but seems like that is not the case either.
So lost ....how can I improve my chnace next year? One of my friends (similar older grad) matched at a decent program last yr with 6 i.v.s. He didn't even have any US LORs & needed visa. Of course, scores were in 90s.
