Just worried what to ask if the pt. says i drink occasionally ...
Also when should we exactly ask the CAGE questions?

it takes 15 seconds to ask .. any time I got a positive drinking hx I asked. They can't mark it wrong for asking

Are we also supposed to counsel all patients who consume alcohol, even occasionally?

if they answer yes to any CAGE question, or give any other inidication to alcohol abuse or dependence then yes councel.

always ask CAGE and if they say yes, then mention that it is impt for their health that they should try and quit. and also note on the PN the score as well.
