somehow i had glimpse of reading somewhere that injecting heroin also leads to it and then i was messing up the answers ( overthingkling abt it) then went with my gut feeling.

no, heroin causes no morphological hepatic damage.

i was getting messed up with the fact that the patient's serum chol, TG were normal. how many alcoholics are like that? that's why i posted this qn.

but the answer is C, anyway, so good going with your gut.

good question,tg etc normal, albumin low plus pt inc, paheli, can u post explanation if available?

abnormalities in LP met can lead to steatosis. alc is a hepatotoxin, produces hepatic steatosis. dec serum albumin levels, inc PT suggests alc-induced liver damage.

exercise, smoking have little direct effect on hepatic fn. aspirin has effect o platelet fn, not hepatocytes.

they haven't mentioned anything abt the serum chol, TG levels in answer.

thanks paheli, why i asked b/c if albumin low, shud be high cholestreol/TG,no doubt its alcohol induced fatty changes in liver.
