I have come across a few discrepancies between goljan and UW.

1) whats the most common site for cancers in colon? UW- ascending colon, papi- sigmoid.

2)Role of desmopressin in vWF deficiency? UW- releases factor VIII from endothelium. goljan- increase synthesis.

3) Pathophys of Janeway lesions? UW- embolism, goljan- immune complex vasculitis.

Whom to trust. I think BIG DADDY_ ROBBINS, but i dont have it at hand right now.

It has yet to proved that where Factor VIII is stored or synthesized. But Desmopressin does help in inducing its secretion. ref.Emedicine and NEJM.

I will be looking for the rest of them.

3) Pathophys of Janeway lesions? UW- embolism, goljan- immune complex vasculitis.
In this case both r correct but Goljan has put it in clear words. By embolism UW went with initial theory that Janeway lesions are septic micro emboli and due to this presumption it was assumed that the actual organism can be culture but it was found on rare occasions. Recently it has been suggested that there is a possiblity that both Osler nodes and Janeway lesions are infact nothing but the deposition of the immune complexes alongside the vessel walls
