Program Name: Northridge Hospital,CA
Date of Interview:14th nov
Where did u stay, nearest hotel, travel etc: best western( expenses not covered) they do provide a room in their on-call house so ask.
Level of "stress" (0-10): 3
How many interviewers: 2 one with PD and one with assis PD ( very relaxed iv ,good interviewers) 20 mins each iv.
How many applicants: 5 2AMG's, 3 IMG's
Tour included visits to: wards,cafeteria,ICU,PICU,attended rounds.
Questions asked: why this programs,goals,what r u looking for in a program..general qus..no medical qus asked.
Happy residents: yes / no / ? : yes seemed very happy. tour with the chief resident but all the other residents made a point to come and talk to us. heard all goods abt the program
Atmosphere: very friendly and welcoming,residents as well as faculty.
City, how is living there?: small suburb
Research oriented: yes / no / ? no
Prematch offers?: no ( not sure)
Visa sponsored?: no
What I liked the most?: teaching,friendly atmosphere
What should be improved?: the time for the tour..was a very hush hush affair.. the chief mostly discussing abt the program.
Rate experience (0-10):
Conclusion: good community program in a small suburb.

Level of "stress" (0-10): 5(the evening dinner eased me down)
How many interviewers: 3 1-chief resident 1-PD 1-staff(grade it the best interaction experience there)
How many applicants: 6(3-AMGs,i think since its an unapposed programme it was very popular among AMGs-2 of them were rotating there)other 3 were IMGs
Tour included visits to: everywhere
Questions asked: they asked why am intrested in their program
Happy residents: yes / no / ? : yes
Atmosphere: very friendly,they made sure someone from the staff was always available to talk and entertain
City, how is living there?: a small townlike ambiance
Research oriented: yes / no / ? no,complete community dedicated
Prematch offers?: no
Visa sponsored?: no
What I liked the most?: i was hearing ppl saying residents were not available to talk,but man,we were provided with more than ample time!
What should be improved?: probably should have given 30 mts with the interviewer
Rate experience (0-10):4
Conclusion:it was my first interview.I was intimidated my the Amgs,for them -everyone knew everyone and they were from very good colleges in Ca.Was fed the whole time .wonderful programe.would be glad to be matched here.

can you tell me if northridge invites only GC and citizens or any other preferences they have for applicants.
I too have applied there and was hoping to hear from them.

hi smal
i m not sure abt the visa preferences but doesnt seem like they just invite GC and citizens ..as i just have an EAD and one other candidate required visa sponsorship. i think they look for the overall application package..not just the scores.
i got a rej from natividad though.

no not at all...no misunderstandings at all..i understand u were tryn to knw more abt the program...
what i meant is that its really very diff to say why they invite certain candidates ...each program has their own criterias...
u still have time...u may get one soon..be positive.
btw ..do u have any other iv's ? i just have one FM iv..i m still hoping for some.

hi aps did they reply for your thank you letter,did PD gave her card or did she say any positive thing at the end
