Thanx, muna, doc1981, and jingimg.

I ll go to Bayview for a shot in early Dec, and after that, if I can't negotiate for an H1 there, I will probably pick a good H1 program and sign with them.

So gonna release around 10 to 15 more ivs if Bayview is only J1 possible.

then will negotiate H1 if they really realise that u dont stand a chance for J1 due to some silly reason . A good program should never allow visa issue to hurdle in path of the talent.

mph, good luck. Hope you can get your coice of program and visa issue will be resolved.

I have found that support staff is more stubborn in their ways then MDs, thus making it harder for applicants who have these issues. But certainly can be done. At risk of sounding self-occupied or gloating, I want to tell you that during my PhD years, the program had no international student. It took 9 months of negotiation but at the end, I got into the program and they paid all my tuition fees (excess of 12K) in retrospect.

You have great credentials, and I truely hope, you get your H1 with Bayview.

regards

Thanx, sachida, but it's possibly bcz u r so outstanding that they have no one else to replace u. For me, Bayview is a different story. As u probably know Bayview has so many AMG candidates and I m the one who received iv later than most AMG. Therefore, unless something striking happens, I dont stand a good chance.

But I ll try, though it's not life or death if I cant make it.

mph, it is nice of you teeling me that I am exceptional, but I am not. I had average GRE scores, perfect GPA and bundle of enthusiasm. And just like you, they had ample american graduates around.

I am just saying, go with the perspective of getting it done, sell it to them why you are a good investment and worth the pain for some administrative changes in visa. And may be your wish will come true. You have it all, just have winning attitude and your prayers will be answered.

and afterall, I am firm beleiver in God's will, whatever happens- happens for good, we may not just see it then and there.
