Jingimg wrote: Congrat preuba. How to know if we have enough programs to go for the match? How to decide whether accept prematch in so-so program or take risk go to the match for the most desired program? hey jingimg...I wish I knew the answer...but probably having over 8-10 programs is a safe bet...considering they go with all the positions (at least a good proportion) to the match. If programs are at the same level and one of them offers a prematch I would accept it. I am going to the match because of personal reasons, and because I had the luck of being invited to some university programs that (I guess)don't offer prematches.... If I had 5 IVs I'll grab a prematch (unless it is really a program I don't like at all) If I had 7 IVs I'll probably take a prematch (not so desired program) if I know half of them fill through prematch. If I had 7 IVs I'll definately would take a prematch if it is among my 3 top choices... if I was offered a prematch at my first 2-3 options would definately take it regardless of the number of IVs. As you may have noticed I am guessing and could go for a few pages.... again, It's so difficult, and I don't feel confident about the "next best step"... There's a thread started by bbb some time ago about prematches..

Hi, guys, I have a question. My favorite program has sent IVs and rejections since early Oct, and is still sending rejections out, at least last week and the week before last. But so far I haven't got any response. I applied late though, late Oct, and didn't have all 3 ROL uploaded until Oct 31. Do you think I should wait, or should I call them?

Hi guys, I'm new to this thread and naive to the whole process. Also got Mount Sinai rej today. Some questions to ask, please help: 1. Will all programs give us status, whether we are invited or rejected? When is the dead line for that? 2. Should I apply more programs? I applied 100+, and IV/Rej rate is 1/20 Thanks a lot!

Called few programs. two rejections, one on hold rest had no answer. Most interesting was talking to case western reserve program... according to PC, observership as well as EXTERNship does not count at USCE... She was almost finding a way to rejct me, I felt like really laughing... It appears that they want me to do prelim year somewhere else then apply again as pgy-1 with us clinical experience....otherwise she thought I was a highly competitive candidate... I am amazed...with some programs to say the least
