Here you can put some interesting mnemonic you know.

  #2

The way i use to remember valvular diseases with associated heart murmurs in the begining:

ASS

Aortic stenosis- systolic murmur (other aortic (aortic regurgitation)will b diastolic

ASS

Exact opposite of Aortic stenosis will be systolic too meaning Mitral Regurgitation ( and other mitral will be diastolic meaning mitral stenosis)

so u basically have to know ASS to figure all 4 of these out

step 1 Mnemonic for the Hereditary porphyrias..this is how i am used to remembering them:

All---------------Acute Intermittent Porphyria

Congenital------Congenital erythropoetic Porphyria

Porphyrias------Porphyria Cutanea Tarda

Have------------Hereditary Coprophyria

Variable---------Variegate Porphyria

Presentation----Protoporhyria

Now all u got to do is memorize the pathway......
the first enzyme.....ALA synthase and ALA dehydrase have no deficincies that i know of and even if they did then they wldn't cause porphyria.....
then you got the next enzyme

Uroprophyrinogen I synthase..............Acute I.Porphyra
Uroporphyrinogen III co-synthase.......Congenital erythropoetic Porphyria
Uroporphyrinogen III decarboxylase....Porphyria Cutanea Tarda
Coprophyrinogen III oxidase...............Hereditary Coprophyria
Protoporhyrinogen oxidase.................Variegate Porphyria
Ferrochelatase....................................Protoporhyria

this ends heme synthesis.....
I just placed the diseases in the order of the enzymes so that it wldn't be tough to recall the enzyme with the specific disease....but u have to memorize the pathway in order for u to be able to do that....

Not sure if it is high yield.....I guess if u rememebr Acute Inet. Porphyria and PCT ...these two are the important ones....
along with maybe lead poisoning......
