I am confused about the treatment of bacterial vaginosis and trichomonas during pregnancy. I have the 2007 Kaplan Lecture notes and it states that metronidazole is safe for such treatment including the first trimester. I was watching the 2001 Kaplan videos by Dr. Penalver and he said that metronidazole is teratogenic during the first trimester. Has that changed? What's the info you guys know for sure?thank you.
