hey before a week i was interviewed at one of the program and over there Program co-ordinator asked us to send all the thankyou letter to her and she will forward them to all facalty , and i did so but i didnt recieve any reply .
PC replied me that all prof have asked her to keep a printout and keep it in the record. Now what does that mean, it is a beat uncomfortable to not receive an apprecitation to all effort we put in writing a thankyou letter.

mines in OH..so its not the same..but it appears to be rude u know..its all baout impressions..if my impression gets messed up coz the PC didnt bother to forward the email..tht sucks..

Okay, from a PC point of view. If you send your thank yous to the individual physicians, they may never make it back to your file - they have clinics in other building's, and not remember to return them to the PC for insertion into your file.
If you send them to me, I can forward them to the physician AND print a copy for your file.
Your call.

so bbb, when ranking season comes around, and there is no thank you letter in your file, it looks kinda bad?

No. I get less that 25% of the persons that we interviewed that send a letter or email.

well..i sent all my thank you letters to the PC & I havnt heard back from the PD or the associate PD..should i email again?

A thank you letter or email to me doesn't mean that I am going to reply back thanking you for sending a thank you letter. The chain stops somewhere.

but thankyou letter in this era of competetion is a mean of self evaluation,
go to interview > during interview wait for some magic words from pd or any one else > hear some nice words from pd> get anxious if he told those words to you only or it was a genric statement > NOW IT IS TIME OF YOUR RESULTS. get back to your motel WRITE A THNKYOU LETTER.
well we flunked if no reply from program.

The same instruction was given to me..a program in NY. if u sent emails, did u just type the email to the PD or send a word doc as an attachment?
