Im an IMG (permanent resident) that just took the Step1 and i got

221/92 (first attempt) and i am currently preparing for the CK.

But i wonder if i can reach any of the most competitive programns in IM,

or should i forget about that because i am an IMG? if i keep doing well on

the CK, CS do i have the chance?


Please reply and give me some suggestions....raised eyebrow

i think you can get into any program you want to including howard school of medicine

your score is good but what i am thinking if you want residency you will get it no matter what your score if you work hard keep faith
after step 1 you want to forget about residency i don't know

worry about "if, when, where" later .. focus on ck for right now

I have to be very honest with u. What do u mean by the most competitive programs? And when was ur graduation?

If it's the top 10, even if u score double 260+, u dont get a chance at all, because it's their policy, not saying u r worse than AMG. U ll get iv like I do, but hardly will they rank u.

With ur step1 score, GC status, and assuming u score 250+ in step2, I would say ur best bet would be about around 35th-70th university programs. Make sure u also get some USCE and do some research.
