- Done with Cardio reading, but I still have Blood vessels and lymphatics part left.
- Will do CCS from today after getting a new book.
Tomorrow I will do UW MCQs again, 2nd round for IM on what I did reading and start reading Nephro.

Got EZ Pass CCS book from amazon yesterday. it's not worth at all. There were plenty of ads on it in usmleforum.com recently, but the value of this book is not true. I am going to return it soon.
Today I just have time to finish one block. Need to have something updated.

That book looks like a note without any clue of how to do effectively in the exam. It just was rewritten the main parts from UW and others. I returned it this morning after reading a few pages.
Done with Nephro in Medstudy. I am bored of reading CMDT by now.
Today I will do some CCS and MCQs in Nephro. Will update later.

I have just stopped for a break as I am taking a look at my preps. I don't feel confident anymore when I solved the UW MCQs and started CSS cases. I think this step requires fresh clinical experience and solid knowledge about common diseases. However there are many zebras.
I am not in hurry anymore, and don't have time, about 4-5 hrs/ day in maximum. So does my prep.
I did all IM in UW, revised CMDT and did some CCS cases with USMLE CD.
My plan:
- Move to Ped, Ob/Gyn and Surg in CK note and Swanson for Geriatrics, Sport med. Do Ethics from step 1 and Fisher's
- UW 2nd round for IM
- Kaplan Q bank 100 Qs/day
- Kaplan Q book
- I am looking for Kaplan DVD lectures for step 3, and will take a look on Kap step 3 notes.

I understand..after doing 70 q on the computer u get so tired that u dont even feel like to study from a book. but Im sure your stamina will increase gradually.

hawaii@: when I started UW, I could just do 50 Qs per day and it's hard to head on. If you read your notes again, when you read the Qs stem, it will be like hunting, and more interesting. In my opinion, I prefer to read and do Qs at the same time. The more I read, the more I feel the Qs interesting.
Yesterday just did 20 Qs!!! To start over is not an easy job!

It's hard to keep myself on track recently. Too much distractions. I postponed my test one more time and I've been thinking to do it when I feel I am ready. Surely it's not now.
I wonder what does the test look like? Will we be asked stuffs as in Washington Manual (therapy stragegy and tactics) or as in Swanson's (what is the best assessment for each pt in each settings?). If someone sheds me some light here, I really appreciate your help.
I consider to do NBME to see what will the real test look like, but I am not ready to do so (still have Ob/Gyn, Surgery, and Psychiatry ahead)

Done with 100 Qs in Qbook. Grabbed some concepts through the wrong Ans. Feel happy about that. Ped in UW is not enough. Finished Ped CK reading (almost forgot everything after 1 yr)
Today's plan:
- 100 Qs of Ped (Q book)
- Start read and watch Kaplan DVDs on Ped step 3
Will finish Ped this weekend and switch to Ob/Gyn

Hi Yuna,I wanted to ask you...how are the kaplan step 3 kaplan DVD?
Do you think it adds to your understanding of the topics?Also do they tell you how to manage a case which may come in the CCS?

@aimfor2007: DVD Kaplan is good, but it's going to take much time. I just browsed some disks on ObGyn and Ped. I don't like much IM.
Recently I can't study much, just 1-2hrs /day and haven't finished my plan as well as subjects. Match day is coming and I wanted to know where I was in this prep and what kind of Qs they are going to ask on the test. I did NBME and scored 460 without my surprise.
The point is, if NBME is presentative for the real test as it does for step 1 and 2, the test actually doesn't look like ABIM as well as UW. NBME asks much about the primary and urgent care as well as ethical questions. I hope that I can refine and direct my prep to the exam's requirements.
3 wks to go, and I know I should not be hurry.

very nice NBME score Yuna. Your preparation is very inspiring. I have a question. I wanted to do Kaplan Q book but could not get hold of one. I was wondering if i should try to find one ..is it that worth? 3 weeks to go ..wow u must be having a solid plan! Goodluck!

Hi yuna, all the best for your last usmle test. I got a question regarding kaplan notes and DVDs for step 3. Where did you get them? I saw in ebay 4 books and a CD but maybe you know a link to download it. Thanks in advance.

@docnikki, thanks for your comment about NBME. I don't stress much on my score, because I just wanna know where I am, and that's it. Deep in my heart, I wish I can get a higher score . I think Kaplan Q bank and even Q book are worth to try. I found Q book Qs are also much helpful. You can try some Qs and find out before doing a whole batch. Actually I haven't done Qbank and just started some block in Qbook.
@Ivonne, Thanks for coming by. My friend handed me her preps resource after she finished all of her USMLE. Actually I don't know the links. I think you can give a try of searching in some USMLE forums. Good luck!
