there seems to be a difference of opinion here between websites
see these:
para 1 of http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/p950927.html
para 5 of http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/about/types/typ...

also Harrison says mesial temporal lobe epilepsy mostly has complex partial seizures probably meaning that it has other types.

what i gathered at the end of all that reading was that most cases of complex partial seizures will have mesial temporal lobe sclerosis and hence are told to have temporal lobe epilepsy. while temporal lobe epilepsy may have other kinds of seizures.

Well probably the same info as me007 but just wanted to emphasize the point that there are a few who believe that CPS and TLE are the same ! and if told to choose between SPS and CPS, one should probably opt for the latter.

In lecture Levi sayes abt olfactory (burnt rubber) and gustatory hallucinations and "Alice in wonderland"-like perception connecting to TLS. Doesn't seems that differentiation of subtypes will be a question on step 2. But anyway, good to know. smiling face
