Hi,I am an IMG from India,and have cleared my USMLE step 1 and 2 CK.since i will be living in CA,i want to apply for the residency progs in CA.I just came to know that the process of getting the PTAL takes almost 9months,i want to apply for it now.but the problem is im still in my home country and im not yet ECFMG certified,and dont have a social security number as well.can i apply for PTAL even then ,as i will be participating in the 2008 match and i dont want it to be delayed.please, some one offer ur valuable advice as to what i need to do.thank you.

i misprinted the match dates.ill be participating in the march 2009 match.

Hi Santhea.
As far as I know they will not process your PTAL unless you have a SSN.
