I received a university's contract today directly asking me to sign the prematch, and it clearly states that I should withdraw from the match before Jan, 31st. My qs is if I dont sign the contract, this contract is not valid, right? Which means I don't have to withdraw from the match as long as I don't sign the contract, right? Please help. Thanx. I dont expect to have such a document coming into mailbox straightly.

Excellent! you can wait up to January 31! is the deadline to accept it, January 31 too? If so, I would thank them and tell them I'll send my response by that time.. If you don't sign, is not valid, I guess. don't commit yet if not interested... " Which means I don't have to withdraw from the match as long as I don't sign the contract, right? "..you don't if you have not accept it

Congrats If you don't sign, it's not valid. But program will not rank you anymore. If I am offered prematch, I will accept it. License is my priority

And no need to withdraw from the match if you do not sign a prematch

Thank you, PRUEBA and ROBIN. The deadline to return it is Nov,30. I think they should at least ask my consent before sending this contract to me. It's not very comfortable seeing your name on the agreement at first sight.

Just out of curiousity, Robin, you said that the program wont rank you anymore- I thought that it is possible to refuse a prematch and still rank the program say number 3- 4 or whatever in case you dont match at your 1st choice?Or is it that if you are offered a prematch, you have to either take it or autmatically you are not eligible to be ranked by the program? Or are you saying that they wont rank you because you refused the prematch offer??

BTW- Mph congratulations- I just wasnt sure if you really wanted this prematch ;-)) And only 2 weeks to decide- not easy to decide As Oscar Wilde said- "There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it."

What I have heard "It depends on programs". Some programs will still ank you high in their list even you refuse their prematch offer, but some will cut you off from the list.

congratulations!!! it is sweet confusion to have. I am sure that they will rank you even if you dont accept pre-match. Usually university based program dont offer >50% positions in pre- match and if you were good enough for pre-match you will be good enough for match. So you can safely ingnore it if you want. I am sure you will get many more such offers and good match if you decide to wait for it. As far as your name on the contact, it is only valid if is signed. You can send them letter gently denying the offer or asking for an extension if you want. I bet they will honor it. good luck

it doesn't make sense to me. If a program ofers you a position and you turn it down, in the hopes of a better one. Why would the program continue to rank you, when in their eyes you'd rather be somewhere else. In any case, congrads on your offer!

Sorry for bringing up this issue, and Thanx again for so many replies and congrat. It's a program in Lower Manhattan, and if u google it, u ll know which one offers me that bcz there's only one university there. I believe my only chance of getting there is through prematch, as they ll rank almost 100% AMG. However, as I am waiting for Bayview's call, I cannot accept it. I know it's a pity, but I ve already let go Mayo.

It's very very expensive, but worth it, as u can build huge connection there. BTW, the tuition is around 33k, not 20k.
