a friend of mind was saying such a thing --- u know the exam is easier in the beginning and depending on ur performance gets easier or harder ---- but honestly who knows ----so many rumors going around ---- but if someone knows for sure, please share with usraised eyebrow

If that`s true ... then I definitely have flunked rolling eyes

My 1st 3 blocks were hard. 4th and 5th were REALLY hard ... and then the 6th and 7th were comparatively so easy that I felt like my GRE quant (I did so badly at first that they threw super easy qs at me at the end and I totally realized that I was worse than a 5th grader in the beginning)

keeping my fingers crossed for ur scores tuscani smiling face you`ll do great. GL

I think they take their time going thru the 7 -8 hour long videos and have a fun time watching us struggling mad ........ couldn`t find a better explanation!

Good luck Shamsy and Tuscani - big day for you 2.

ofcourse I don't mind you asking, kiterunner smiling face. It's 207/85. I know it's not anything compared to the 99 club but I'm extremely happy with it!

Though I don't usually tune into this forum, here's my honest experience with studying for it:

I was doing my internship before this so I started late in the year. I theoretically started studying in May(just warming up to say), but didn't actually start "really" studying until mid to late June or so; took exam in late October. The longer you study, the better you'll do, I realize, but I had my own time constraints preventing me from taking anylonger.

Really studying for me means 8hrs/day everyday with 1-2 days off everyweek. Did videos and kaplan books, I didn't do FA except for subjects that I didn't have time to cover 2nd time. I did everything twice or almost everything. I did not do anatomy except for major things that I use in clinical practice that I wanted to brush up on (Brachial plexus, etc). Did genetics only once (but a good one time). I started with what I knew I was weak in, then did everything, then went over the big ones (path, physio, etc) second time. There are things I didn't have time to do, but knew that exactly what I was missing so I did those in First Aid; stuff like viruses and medications in pharmacology.

Took NBME 4, six weeks before the exam and got exactly passing 370/186. That helped me focus on my weak areas (which I did great on, in the real exam--though I did not know this at the time). Found UW very helpful, and they are really great in terms of customer service (they deserve credit for that).

My advice would be: After everything you read, do some q's to make sure that you understand it (for instance, I used those questions at the end of the chapter for NMS biochemistry, or just used Qbank for biochem Q's). I did not find it helpful to do questions without reading, though everyone raves about this; I find questions focused on what I read most helpful with the last month doing all remaining questions. I was pressed for time, and coming out of the exam I felt that it might have gone either way. You're just not sure if you passed or not, though I felt the first two blocks were straightforward. I took breaks, and unlike tuscani, I drank alot of water/juice/iced coffee late in the afternoon so Ihad to go to the bathroom alot.

Got my results at 9:10 AM, and did not get them at midnight though I kept checking until 1:30 AM.

The line above, is why I tune into this forum--for timing of score report! Also for how did I do on UW versus others who passed....I did a combo of either tutor mode focused on each subject or I did some mixed 50 Q's unused. Did UW once, and supplemented at times with Qbank for subject specific Q's. If you were to ask me what my grade was on it, I'd probably say low to mid 50's. You don't need both btw, UW is great alone.

Do what you see works for you, and not for others; and goodluck smiling face
