i'm not a newbie ,(previous id- usmletopper)but i have lost my old password had to register again .
i took my exam on october 11 at chennai,which is located in south india. i started my prep in feb ,but seriously in march.took me three months to complete my first revision,with older version of dvds..strated a 2nd review before doing kaplan q bank .my piece of advice-
1*do both the q banks as there are certain topics which covered only in UW and some only in kaplan Q bank.
2*write nbme 10-15 days before exam and again 3 days befre the exam .everyone may not agree with this but in my case ,it helped me ease my tension and it helped to stop worrying about my score.nbme3-580(236) and nbme 4-570(234)-10 days before exam .did them continuously for eight hours just like the real exam.3 days before nbme1-630(245).very similar to the exam.some questions even repeated from nbme.
3*write the exam only when u r confident .dont take any chance.
4*all subjects kaplan except goljan for patho.make sure u prepare notes from both q bank and UW,along with those topics u forget so that u can revise only the notes just before the exam
5*dont spend too much time on discussion forums from 1 month before exam.u see time fying by withou u noticing it.
this is my opinion u may agree or not its upto u.

Congrate , great score , great advice especially re the Qs to make notes in both Q bank , last not the least, stay away from forum in last month , that the hardest part , but when need to study have to study then you have to post less as much as possible , like my sis said , u chat with online 1 frd 10 min, imagine 10 frds , we have more than that here only .. so read stusy instead of chatting even with family .
Will ask u more re ur prep, if ur in mood, have time do post ur experinces & prep in detail.

mikky-my score on kapln q bank was low-65-68% i did it subject wise,
in UW-70%77 percentile-did them random unused,timed mode
ShweHope99.9998-thank you.i'll post my prep in detail.didn't know that there actually people who read my posts.

Congratulation for ur brilliant success with topmost score.
Could u please guide me how u improved ur NBME score from 570 to 630 in 10 days. Because my exam is exactly after 2 weeks and today I got NBME-3 score of 540. I will really appreciate u for guiding me detailed strategy for improvement of my score in these 2 weeks.

i revised the entire syllabus quickly streesing on things i forgot .i marked those and reviewed them before exam
OBO :i made notes of the imp topics i forgot easily-2nd messengers,oncogenes,thyroid hormones,hypothalamus ,thalamus connections,etc and the extra points not covered.
basophillia-i did q bank firstt followed by UW
