Hello everybody, this is really a great forum, I would be lost without it.
Can someone help me with this question:
I am currently doing some electives in the US and found some attendings who are willing to write a Letter for me. But I will start to apply for interviews in 2009, because I first have to finish my regular med school. So what shall the attendings do with my letters? Keep them on their PC until I apply? Or can they already send them to eras?
Would be great if someone could help....

hey, viergewinnt!

are you german?grinanyway, my advise to you is to ask them to write it NOW and keep it on their file and maybe give you a copy ( if you don't waive your right to see it or even if you do..) Fact is that people forget! Two years from now they will only vaguely remember who you are and how you performed. You can't send them to eras since you don't have an eras token for 2009...

good luck!

great, thank you for answering, this was very helpful! I try to stay in touch with the attendings who wrote a letter for me in order that they keep me in mind... I hope it works!
By the way.. I am German/turkish a bit of both :-)
