These are the states that do not require a one-year post-grad training before you sit for step 3 exam... ARKANSAS CALIFORNIA CONNECTICUT DELAWARE LOUISIANA MARYLAND NEBRASKA NEVADA NEW YORK OKLAHOMA SOUTH CAROLINA TEXAS UTAH VIRGINIA WEST VIRGINIA

hey justice thanks a lot can u please guide me i am right now waiting for ck results which is expected next week so if i apply after the result how do i go through n how much time does the application process takes any clue coz i am gona b leaving for my country in the first week of dec n want to take step 3 no later than march

arkansas requires 3 yrs for imgs california 2yrs for imgs delaware 3yrs for imgs louisana 3yrs for imgs maryland 2 yrs for imgs and for the rest refer to http://www.fsmb.org/usmle_eliinitial.html

Obviously, it is about something different... Just read the attachments to the posts above...

sorry justice for my mistake i freaked out as i thought one couldnot set for step 3 !!! thnx for ur correction but how u reached these links i couldnot reach these links through the FSMB website or each medical board web site did u reach these links from usmle website?

Hi, I'm currently not in residency, and will be applying for S3 exam. Acc to the 7yr rule, I would have to pas step 3 by or before nov 09. I prefer to apply thru a state which doesnt have a 7yr rule, but these 8 states require PG training. Is there any state (s) which doesnt require PG residency training, and which also doesnt have the 7yr rule, to sit for Step 3? thanks, drhabib
