A 52 yr old male smoker has a CXR that reveals a 1.3 cm solitary pulmonary lesion. No calcification pattern can be discerned on CXR and previous CXR are unavailable. What is the next step in the work up of this patient?

I think you referring for a CXR every 3 months for 2 years
but I will still go for biopsy

1.3 cm , non calcified benign nodule---HAMARTOMA.

just follow up later to see if any changes

no to biopsy

no to continued follow up

I think hamartoma is calcified with a popcorn apperance

correct.

Pt has a probable lung malignancy.

next step is a CT

biopsy is for confirming the diagnosis
