If any of u guys have any information on this please post here. My question basically requires two answers. One, which is the most predictive NBME form out there ? And two, which is the toughest one to do? ( which would mean that it under predicts ur score) With the wealth of experience i see here i hope to have some real good answers soon. Thanks.

I read somewhere that form 2 is the most predictive but since I did it a while before my test I can't confirm that. Its definitely not the toughest. I did form 4 the afternoon before my test and got 224 but ended up with 240 on the real thing.

Thanks jazmil. Ya from what i've seen people say form 3 and 4 are the toughest but form 2 is the most predictive. But i'm not sure. Thats why i want more opinions. C'mon people!

My idea for gaining this information is simple. I want to do the toughest form first before i even start my prep, so that i can decide on how much prep time i need ( infact i already did form 3, got 580, but not sure its the toughest one out there). And then when i'm close to my Dday i want to do the one which is the most predictive. Havent started with the prep yet but hope to get it goin soon...

Did all 4 forms. Found 3 the hardest. But the difference is not significant. Form 3 (3 weeks before exam) - 253/680 , Got 260 in real exam. Other forms were downloaded so score is difficult to compare. Form 1,2,3 (done in last week) 182, 184,184 correct out of 200 (according to the answers provided though not very reliable) GL

How much they differ might all depends on individual strength/weakness. Also the timing and how they improved their selves after they took the forms and how the real exam appealed to them.

Yes i agree with u nyimalay. What i want is a baseline using the toughest form before i start my prep and predictability close to the real exam. Do u think any one NBME form resembles the real exam pattern more closely than the rest?

They all represent the actual exm. There are patterns in the Forms. for eg Form 4 focuses more on Mol bio or has a tougher section of it while Form 2 has more of a Pathophysio touch to it. Form 1 is an exmple that u can easily do it but the questions make u go in circles. I cudnt pinpoint exactly where to put Form 3 but i wud place it under the Pathophysio catergory. As far as the most predictive one well there r too many variables to consider..... Was the person giving the actual exm with the exact same level of anxiety or not. So its different for everybody. Use them to assess urself and judge urself. Go with either do Form 1 and then 3 or 2 first and then 4 gives a fresh idea on where u r in terms of improvement and readiness,

To genbot, No particular form reflects real exam more than others. But they all are a bit more similar to real one than UW is. It wouldn't be wrong whichever form you use in whatever order. I thought like you before I did my step 1. But I wouldn't mind it anymore if I have to do step 1 again. GL
