Can someone help me please clarify this, please. 1- do you have to be certify before you can apply for the MATCH? 2-can you apply with only having step1 passed? 3-by when do you need to have step1 and step2 passed in order to enter the match for 2005? 4- what is the prematch?

1- do you have to be certify before you can apply for the MATCH? No - you can apply for NRMP and ERAS prior to being ECFMG certified.
2-can you apply with only having step1 passed? Yes
3-by when do you need to have step1 and step2 passed in order to enter the match for 2005? You should try and have all your tests taken to have your certification as close to October 2004 as possible.
4- what is the prematch? When a program director asks you to sign a contract before the match
