Guyton, I think more than the number of readings its the kinda thought you put into your learning which is important. There are generally three kinds of questions you face. One is questions which test your basic factual knowledge, something you cannot afford to forget! Two, and equally important, is questions which test indepth understanding of material you learn. Mind you this is not the same as learning obscure facts but instead an ability to synthesize bits of information you learn into a continuum i.e form as many connections as you possibly can. Third, and relatively less important, is questions which test unusual info. Gettin even half of that stuff right should be good enough for a great score. If you can identify any of these aspects which seem to be missing from your prep at this time and then get to work on them regularly i think your scores should definitely improve. As i've mentioned often its very important for us to be able to identify our weak areas and then make sure we improve them as much and as soon as possible. That effectively determines the number of readings you require and the way you need to go about it. I dont think there is one single formula to success. We all need to adapt our preps to our needs (which i think are unique to each individual), and of course to the needs of the exam (which is a common denominator for all of us!).

no, no uworld yet
i will postpone the date if needed , maybe 10 april so that i get a month's time for uworld i have to skim through neuroanat and few chapters of goljan that will take 2 more days , with remaining kaplan q's. i am bored of doing q's, so taking 2 days break from q's and then just revise some things i always make mistakes in, from first aid/kaplan books .. that will take me about a day that is 9th and nbme-4 on 10th. i am taking all 4 nbme 's just don't want to take chances with this first step , if i don't do well in this , the rest of it will stumble too will get back with my progress .. i will need help from you at that point of time . thanks for your help so far, i was almost losing hope , but your journal and advice made me spring back to action , i am studying in a day's time what i was not studying even in a week last month . thanks May God bless you with all that you want in life .

milee, tia Its really good to know that u've been helped by whatever stuff i've been writing on this forum. Thank you! But let me tell u something...the inspiration always lies within us, all we need to do is to find That trigger which brings it back to life from its dormant state. If I helped u find that it certainly means a lot to me. jean robert, Thanks man! I'm certainly havin a good rest. Good luck with ur prep! milee again, I think u certainly have the right plan. All that u require is to follow it well. The rest will follow easy. And of course u need any help anytime i'm sure to be around.

GL in ur score , am sure u will break one more record high again & do visist us even after ur in st 3 land .

Tia, I feel combining patho and physio is a good idea. Stick to it. They do ask a lot of questions on pathophysiology. Yup. About IgA deficiency...from what i know immunoglobulins are relatively ineffective because they mostly contain IgG and also expose the recepient to a high risk of anaphylaxis (patients have antibodies against IgA). milee, I'm chillin out these days. No serious work for now. Have my cs comin up in may, so will need to get my prep started sometime late this month. Till then i've to complete paperwork for the visa, which is a real pain in the neck. I'm also hopin to take step3 when i finish with cs this year. You must be takin your nbme tomorrow...goodluck! shwe, I will continue to visit this place whatever land i'm in. mjbapana, I feel its best you use HY histo. Kaplan's sure gotta lot of stuff missin.

Hey good to know that you'r really happy with your studying. Keep it goin! Insomnia is pretty common with these preps, happened to me too. Best is to stop thinkin bout it when you're done with the day's work. But this is tough advice to follow!
