Natural Killer Cells (NK cells): - Inhibited by MHC I on the surface of cells. - Viral infected cells or tumer cells with downregulated MHC I are the target for NK cell and lysis. _ RBCs the only Human cells devoid of MHC I Why do not our NK cells destroy our RBCs?

that part of the receptor which inhibits the NK cells to kill RBCs is yet to be found cos uptill now they r stil trying to figure this one out. but if u find anything interesting then do let us know
