i neeeeeed help please. I just got my score back.. this is my second time taking the exam. I never thought it would come down to this. I got a 63. WHich is quite acurate to what NBME told me i would get 2 weeks before the exam. BUt then i really worked on FA those 2 weeks and went for the test. I really need advice on how to recoop and reorganize so i can take the test before the year's end. I know i have this strenght to continue on so i'm humbling myself and asking for help Spent 7 months straight studying averaging 7-8 hours a day.So i understand basic concepts well. BUt my score is the discrepency. Kaplan- 2 reads of all kaplan books Goljan-Almost 2 reads, some subjects 3 reads. UW -2 months on. Getting 30's by the last month 54-60% NBME- 300 score HOw can i siginificanly increase my score and when would be a good time to take it again? Thanks already to anyone who will reply

Hi live4real,iam sorry about your score, take few days off these thinks happens in life, after taking break plan wisely and realistically give good time of prep dont try to rush and take the exam ,u shouldnt have taken the exam when ur NBME doesnt show u pass score, Next time make sure that u never take this exam unless u pass with 400 plus in nbme, 450 to be in the safer region.I also did the same mistake didnt took nbme seriously ,nbmes are the most accurate predictor u can get for this exam they predicted my score to be exact. I will suggest u take make study in order useFA AND USMEWORLD as ur friend, always do usmleworld in timed mode. How were u taking UW timed or tutor.for mow relax and go some where or be with someone these r very difficult time i myself faced it but get back to study fresh and with more power Goodluck

hello sam27! Thank you so much for your reply. Yes i am taking a few days off with some friends to recoop. WIth the strategy though- i defintately need a new one. I want to get a high score. I had done UW timed for hte first month and a half, but as the exam got closer i did it tutor to make sure i was getting concepts. Which do you think is better? HOw about FA with UW? since i did about 70% of it, do you think i should try another question bank? Do you have any advice about the proper way to study again and about the topics i did poorly on. I don't think it would be smart to hit the books all over again, but then again.. i;m the one who needs the advice Also- my studies were timely fashioned to my own schedule but what is the proper fashion that you are mentioning here? Thanks alot for your time and your consideration SAm27

Live4real, I am sorry to hear about your score but I admire your determination to stand back and fight again. I would suggest you to read all the askdoc's posts in the link below , diagnose the problem and treat accordingly. Good luck. http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/34492
